Willingdon Church is led by a group of elders who provide spiritual leadership and oversight for the church. The elders meet monthly to prayerfully seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance for the advancement of the Kingdom through the ministries, programs and policies here at Willingdon.
These men fit the qualifications outlined in Acts 11:30, 15:2, 20:28-31; 1 Timothy 3:2-5, 5-17 and 2 Timothy 2:25; Titus 1:9; James 5:16 and 1 Peter 5:2-3; and have demonstrated their gifting in teaching, exhorting and shepherding the body of believers.
All members of Willingdon Church respectfully submit to the leadership of the elders and are called to pray for each one of them.
The deacons at Willingdon Church are ministry leaders. They humbly serve the church by leading and carrying out specific tasks within their assigned ministry to accomplish the goals set out by the elders.
These men and women have demonstrated gifts and talents along with fulfilling the requirements outlined in Acts 15:30, 20:28-31; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; 2 Timothy 2:24; Titus 1:7-9; James 5:14 and 1 Peter 5:2-3, which makes them well-suited to the role of being ministry leaders and helping God’s people discover and use their spiritual gifts in the body.
