At Willingdon Church we are committed to reaching the city of Vancouver with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

God has always had a heart for the city. In Jeremiah 29, God gave instructions to the exiles who had been taken from Jerusalem and relocated in Babylon. “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” (Jeremiah 29:7, NIV) We might be tempted to despise or dismiss the city for its rampant evil and violence, but God says we are to seek the city’s welfare. Church planting is among the most practical ways we can do that.

WILLINGDON'S INVOLVEMENT

We believe that Willingdon has a significant role to play in reaching Vancouver, but we also know that there are limitations to what can happen in just our church. That is why we have partnered with Church Planting BC to help us accomplish this task.

Our first step toward this goal was adopting a church plant in Vancouver called Reality Church. Adoption means that we treat them as our own, and support them financially, spiritually, emotionally, and practically. In 2011, Willingdon also supported our own pastors Lee Francois and Andy Frew as they set out to plant Crossridge Church to reach the city of Surrey for Christ.

As we partner with Church Planting BC to develop ways in which Willingdon can help reach Vancouver through church planting, we invite you to pray with us for our city.
