Scouts

Willingdon's scouting sections embrace the mission statement of Scouts Canada and contribute to the development of youth aged 5-17 years. We are here to help those in the program achieve their full physical, social and spiritual potential as individuals, and become responsible citizens and members of their local, national and international communities.

What is Scouts?

Scouts is an opportunity for children to get outside, connect with friends and share new experiences. Scouting helps youth get motivated to build their own trail.

Through this program, Scouts discover that they are capable of more than they think, and learn how these skills can connect to the communities that they live in.

What to Expect

Scouts meet each Wednesday from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Every week you can expect:

  • Age-appropriate activities with an emphasis on the environment and outdoors, citizenship, community service, and more
  • Learning teamwork in a patrol setting
  • Youth-led Scouting with age-appropriate adult mentorship
  • Skills and adventures including: Hiking, camping, bake rambles, canoeing, archery, geocaching, map-reading, compass and GPS training and more!
  • While the focus is on scouting and outdoor activities, as an extension of Willingdon Church, our scouting group includes prayer and Bible-based devotionals
