Proverbs - Skills to Navigate Life : “The Wisdom Driven Life”
- Scripture Passage: Proverbs 4:1-27 (Pew Bible Page 529)
- Speaker: Pastor Lee Francois
- Date: 8/2/2009
Rick Warren’s book, The Purpose Driven Life became a runaway bestseller. The reason was simple: people long to know the reason for their existence. Discovering the purpose for your life is a very important concept, but just knowing what the purpose is may not be enough to help us fulfill that purpose. We may know where we want to end up, but unless we know how to get there, we may never reach our intended destination. If wisdom is the skill to navigate life, then the commodity we most need to reach our intended destination is wisdom. We need a wisdom driven life.
1. Training in wisdom is a family affair
- It begins in the home and it begins early
- It demands both affection and urgency
- It requires a combination of solid content and a positive example
2. Growing in wisdom demands a decision
3. Maintaining wisdom calls for a total commitment
