Various Topics : Part 1: The One Who Rules From The Cross (3/25/2007)
Scripture passage: Colossian 1:15-17
Speaker: Pastor John Neufeld
Sermon Abstract:
As we enter the Easter Season, our minds should be taken up in the cross and the resurrection. In these events are found the reason why we believe. Easter expresses clearly why we have confidence in Christ. We know that Christ rules over all, and no earthly or heavenly power can stand against his rule. We also know the way he rules – a way that is both shocking and fascinating. For our king rules not from earthly thrones of power, but from the blood stained instrument of torture – the cross!
A. The Glorious Picture of the One Who Rules 1. He is the visible presence of the invisible God 2. He is the preeminent ruler of all creation
B. The Glorious Picture of the Way He Rules 1. In the planning of creation 2. In magnificent design and building of creation 3. In the purpose of creation – to show his cross
